Kaylin Pennington grew up near San Francisco, California. After studying human biology and global health as an undergraduate student at Stanford University, she worked at a student-run free clinic for five years, serving as a clinic manager immediately following her first year. This work inspired her to pursue a master's degree in public health with a concentration in community health education at San Francisco State University. Before joining GHC, Kaylin researched the ongoing human rights and environmental justice campaign in Bhopal, India and supported maternal and child health programming in rural highland Guatemala. She is passionate about cultural humility and working in partnership with communities to further health equity and social justice. Kaylin also loves teaching and has been a math tutor for more than ten years.
