Laura Bishop is from Melbourne, Australia. Since completing her undergraduate degree, she has been the National Manager of the Ethiopiaid Australia Foundation where she raises funds in Australia for reproductive health and girls empowerment projects in Ethiopia. Laura attended RMIT University, majoring in international law. During her studies, she volunteered for World Vision and interned at the United Nations Association of Australia. She spent her final undergraduate semester abroad in South Africa where she assisted with asylum seeker deportation cases and worked with incarcerated teenage boys. Laura is an active volunteer at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, lobbying the federal government for legislative change in regards to mandatory detention. She is completing her graduate diploma in human rights law at the University of Melbourne.
