Laura was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Most recently, she interned for Bedford- Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation through the Partnership for a Healthier NYC. There, Laura examined socioeconomic and racial disparities in health in underrepresented communities and developed initiatives around healthy eating, active living, tobacco-free living, and alcohol abuse. She completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University, majoring in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology. At Yale, Laura worked as a peer health educator with the Student Wellness Office where she led workshops, coordinated yearlong events, and connected students to on-campus resources regarding sexual health and wellbeing. She also volunteered with the Living History Project at Yale-New Haven Hospital where she spent time with patients and addressed health issues in a clinical setting. During her free time, Laura enjoys traditional East Asian dancing, rollerblading, and visiting museums.
