Lilian is from Rwanda. She completed her undergraduate studies at Makerere University in Uganda, earning a Bachelor's in Business Administration. While at Makerere, she worked with The AIDS Support Organization (TASO)-Uganda in the counseling and outreach department. She visited selected sites once a month to support clients who could not afford to travel to the centers. These efforts, together with the system of appointments for clients, resulted in a reduction of the number of clients seen at the centers every day. She later joined Swift Freight International as a sales representative. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, Lilian worked at Umutara Polytechnic-Rwanda as a teaching assistant. While there, she also worked as a coordinator in the human resources department and represented the management faculty to the academic senate. While at Umutara Lilian was selected to go to the United States as a Presidential Scholar at Oklahoma Christian University where she received a Master's in Business Administration. Since completing graduate school in 2011, she has worked as a Program Manager for the Survivors Fund (SURF) in Rwanda.
