Lorenzo Nshizirungu was born and raised in Kigali, Rwanda. He received his undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Rwanda. Lorenzo’s community had a strong connection to music and because of this he had a great interest in incorporating music into his work. His specific interest is understanding the architecture of music. His thesis project was aimed at designing a music school to provide equal education to talented youth. He has traveled extensively to Burundi, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, as well as Zanzibar, where his third and fourth year studio projects were based. Lorenzo enjoys singing, playing guitar, and acrobatic sports.
