Louis Masankha Banda was born and raised in Malawi. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and Demography from University of Malawi, Chancellor College in 2009. Before enrolling in a Masters in Biostatistics, he worked with Millennium Villages Project in the area of project monitoring and evaluation. Currently, Louis is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Biostatistics at Chancellor College in Zomba, Malawi. Until he joined the GHC fellowship, Louis worked as a Demonstrator in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Chancellor College, where he was involved in delivering Statistics and Mathematics tutorials to the first year undergraduate students. In 2007, while still an undergraduate student, he did a voluntary job with Invest in Knowledge Initiative (IKI) where he was involved in the design, data collection and handling of a pilot study determining trends, determinants and implications of VCT/ART uptake in rural Malawi. Louis has a strong zeal for developing his research and data management skills further in the area of public health.
