Maddie Dimarco grew up in Seattle, Washington. She is a passionate advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights, and first became interested in health equity through a gender lens. As a sociology major, Maddie enjoyed learning about different ways that gender dynamics shaped a person's life experiences.. In college, Maddie interned with the United Nations Population Fund in Washington, D.C. where she learned about ways that a person’s gender, race, ethnicity, age, and socio-economic status, can have an impact on one's ability to access various health services. After graduating, she began working for Family Planning 2020, a global partnership working to increase access to contraceptives. Maddie enjoys swimming in her free time and has picked up needlepoint and cross-stitch from her mom to de-stress.
