Madina Tabesh was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and raised in the suburbs of Vancouver, Canada. Madina graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. During her undergraduate career, she held office as the president of the Political Science Student Union, and also volunteered for Access ProBono. Madina has worked extensively in marketing, fundraising, and non-profits. Her most passionate project is Silk Road Dream Foundation, a non-profit that serves to provide equal access to education for young women in Iran and Afghanistan. She is a published poet and writer, with a deep interest in identity, race, and justice. Her work is being presented at City Lore theatre and was featured on Spora Magazine. Madina enjoys spending her time baking, running, traveling, writing, and spending exorbitant amounts of money on makeup she will probably never wear.
