Maiden Mahowe is a nurse from Lilongwe, Malawi. In 2015, she received Best Nurse of the Year award from the National Organization for Nurses and Midwives in Malawi. She attended Mzuzu University where she studied nursing and midwifery. Maiden has worked as a nursing officer at Zomba Central Hospital where she was the chairperson of the Zomba Hospital support group, which aims to ensure the welfare of staff and their families at the hospital. She is particularly interested in reproductive, maternal and newborn health and frequently gives career talks to young women on remaining in school and continuting their education.
