Maimunat is a 30-year old Nigerian physician. She trained as a medical doctor at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria, graduating in July 2005. Maimunat's passion is in managing inequalities in healthcare and improving health outcomes in developing countries. This led her to pursue a postgraduate degree in International Healthcare Management at the University of Aberdeen, UK. She graduated with a commendation in November 2009. Maimunat has served in various healthcare capacities at UILTH, Emel Hospital and with Afrikids - an NGO with affiliations in the UK. Her passion for improving healthcare in developing countries is only matched by her pursuit of excellence both professionally and personally. She is a hardworking, intelligent and resourceful individual who can adapt to any cultural setting. She is a team player and ready to take on challenges. Maimunat is married and has a son.
