Marcia Christine Trindade is from Lilongwe, Malawi. She completed her undergraduate studies at Monash University in South Africa where she received a Bachelor of Arts with specialization in International Studies and Communications. While at Monash, Marcia was involved in various professional memberships, including the Monash Volunteer Program, and contributed significantly to the work being done in and around underprivileged communities. Since completing her studies in 2014, she has returned to Malawi and worked with various non-profit organizations including the United Nations Women Malawi. As a Program Management Intern, she focused on issues of gender-based violence in Malawi and she helped implement a self-defense training course for young women. Outside of work, Marcia plays for a social league basketball team, which is focused on helping underprivileged women by providing them with hope and using sport as a tool for a brighter future.
