To me, equality means that every person has access to education, health care, and the social and psychological services required in order to have an equitable opportunity to succeed as an individual, in the context of his or her community, and in the global community at large.

Marian grew up in New York. She majored in Studio Art and minored in Education at Colorado College. During her studies, Marian investigated how communities can build supportive practices through the arts by studying leadership and learning styles and how they can catalyze social change while striving to achieve social equity. She then moved to Boston to pursue her Master’s in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, with a focus on Arts in Education. While in school, she worked at arts programs such as VSA Massachusetts and Project Zero as an arts-based Research Assistant. After completing her graduate studies, Marian worked as the Associate Director for the Boston-based non-profit, ARTZ: Artists for Alzheimer’s, and as a Research Associate for the Hearthstone Research Division. An active studio artist, Marian utilizes handmade paper to investigate art for catharsis and community building. Her work has been shown in galleries across the nation and internationally.
