Originally from Kigali, Rwanda, Marie Rose Owamahoro is committed to advancing impactful health initiatives as a Medical Equipment Engineer with the Ministry of Health–Rwanda’s Biomedical Centre Medical Technology Division. Before embarking on the GHC fellowship, she received the Best Performer Certificate at the Rwanda Biomedical Center for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. She played a crucial role in the procurement of both medical and non-medical equipment for several public hospitals, including Muinini (Nyaruguru District), Nyabikenke and Kabgayi (Muhanga District), Kigagabaga (Gasabo District), Nyamata (Bugesera District), and various health centers nationwide. Her ongoing responsibilities include coordinating on-site needs assessments, preparing technical specifications, supervising tender procedures, and ensuring the effective installation of equipment. Additionally, she has initiated the distribution of medical equipment donations obtained on behalf of the Ministry of Health to various health centers, thereby supporting the country's healthcare infrastructure. As a GHC fellow, she aims to grow personally while making lasting contributions to her institution and community. By learning from experienced mentors and collaborating with peers, her main goal is to refine her problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills, with an emphasis on prioritization, time management, communication, and adaptability. This foundation will equip her to guide others with confidence and vision.
