Maswabi grew up in Lusaka, Zambia. Prior to joining Global Health Corps, she worked for the Commonwealth Youth Program, Regional Center for Africa as a Programs Assistant where she gained insight into the similar challenges faced by young people across the world and the power of collaborative action in dealing with these challenges. Maswabi participated in an exchange program between Zambia and Sweden, to which she attributes her appreciation for diversity of culture. Maswabi holds a Bachelor of Arts in development studies from the Zambian Open University and will this year begin her masters degree studies in communication for development at the University of Zambia.
