Mathias is from Uganda. He received his Masters of Economic Policy and Planning from Makerere University. Prior to joining GHC, he worked with AH Consulting, taking part in project planning and design, research, policy development, socio-economic consultations, and monitoring and evaluation. He participated in the 2013 Global Enterprise Experience, a three week programme run by Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand to help participants develop skills in global leadership and cross cultural management and to use business to create a better world. Previously, Mathias received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Makerere University. While attending university, he also worked as a researcher for Good Earth Trust, a UK-based charity organization promoting sustainable and low cost housing technologies in Sub Saharan Africa. Mathias participated in the Munster University International Model United Nation under the theme “Scarcity as a Challenge to Development and Human security”. He was also a research assistant on a collaborative team of researchers from the School of Economics at the University of Nottingham in the UK and from University of Stellenbosch in South Africa that conducted a survey on the NGO sector in Uganda.
