Community provides the context to an individual's existence - it shapes who we are, it acts as a framework for reference and it dictates our development as 'persons'. It is important therefore that we invest in them, building strong, healthy, vibrant and supportive communities.
Meadhbha is originally from Belfast, Ireland. She graduated from the University of Cambridge, Trinity Hall in 2010 with a first class honors degree in philosophy focusing on the study of mathematical and philosophical logic, and Wittgenstein. Meadhbha was awarded the Kitty Crawley Prize for Philosophy and was elected a Bateman Scholar of Trinity Hall. After graduating, Meadhbha worked at The Welcome Organization, a charity supporting those who experience multiple social exclusions in Northern Ireland, including rough sleepers and those with acute addiction issues. She has also managed the charity’s Drop In Centre, Street Outreach, and Crisis Accommodation Services and is committed to developing high quality, low barrier harm reduction services. Meadhbha plays traditional Irish music on uilleann pipes and while at Cambridge, she rowed with the Trinity Hall Boat Club Women’s First VIII. In her free time, Meadhbha also enjoys spin cycling, running, and spending time with her family.
