Working in the development sector I am motivated by the fact that there is immense potential to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the underprivileged through empowerment and mobilization, and I have the opportunity to channel my skills, effort, and commitment to this cause.

Mehreen Shahid is from Lahore, Pakistan. While pursuing a Master in Public Policy from the University of Oxford, she developed an interest in healthcare policy from her time studying different countries’ healthcare systems. She traveled to Uganda and South Africa to research and analyze the impact of domestic and international scientific capacity building initiatives on African scientists. Mehreen has also worked as a management consultant, designing and conducting soft skills training programs for public and private sector corporations within Pakistan. Prior to GHC, she worked as a research associate at the Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan where she designed and implemented vocational training programs for small scale farmers and rural women in the Punjab province. Mehreen has been actively engaged in Pakistan’s development sector through poverty alleviation and disaster relief management projects. She completed her undergraduate studies at Lahore University of Management Science, majoring in accounting and finance. She enjoys playing cricket and football and is very interested in politics.
