Mervin is a native of Malawi and he majored in journalism and media studies at the Malawi Polytechnic. As an undergraduate, Mervin was an active member of the Poly Ben Carson social club, a youth empowerment organization, where he served as vice secretary and president. While in college, Mervin developed the web solutions business, ProWeb, where he worked as manager and marketing and online content officer.
