Michaela is from Yonkers, New York. She received her bachelor’s in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis. As an undergraduate, Michaela was actively involved in the student group GlobeMed, a global health equity organization that creates long-term partnerships between university chapters and grassroots organizations around the world. Additionally, Michaela studied Health and Human Rights in India, interned with Partner In Health’s Policy and Advocacy team in Boston, and completed a thesis on the economic, political, and social systems that produce inequitable access to healthy food in St. Louis, Missouri. Since graduating, Michaela worked with Project Muso, a community-based organization targeting poverty and its effects in Yirimaddjo, Mali, to support the expansion of their community health worker program. Michaela is passionate about exploring new places, experiencing music, and journaling.
