Originally from San Francisco, California, USA, Miriam Hartig worked as a research associate evaluating AmeriCorps Opportunity Youth programs and Head Start Early Childhood Health programs before joining GHC. Prior to that, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cambodia where she worked on health education with pregnant women and new mothers at a rural health clinic. Miriam holds a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of California, Davis. In her free time she works on a organic community farm, volunteers as an HIV/AIDS peer support volunteer, plays ukulele, and rides her bicycle.
