Health equity is an ideal we all have to strive for. It can only be achieved through strong inter sector collaboration to address the determinants of health (structural drivers, community determinants and healthcare).

Monica Scrobotovici is a passionate health equity and social justice activist who was born and raised in Romania. Prior to joining GHC, she worked for Thurrock Council (the local authority) and the NHS in the UK to improve the detection and management of chronic conditions and increase the access to primary care services in the borough. In addition to her work in public health, Monica researched cardiovascular disease and co-authored a paper in the Alzheimer’s and Dementia journal. She also went to Washington DC to advocate for public health policies in the House of Representatives in 2014. In her free time, Monica loves attending social gatherings, traveling, and learning about other cultures. She holds a Master of Public Health from Brigham Young University.
