Mpongwe is originally from Mbala in Northern Zambia. She worked with World Vision Zambia for four years as a monitoring and evaluation officer. While at World Vision, Mpongwe focused on a health project that exposed her to the many healthcare access challenges faced by the population in rural Zambia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Copperbelt University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in production management. Mpongwe currently lives in Kabwe, Zambia and is married with one daughter. She loves to read, watch movies, and exercise.
