Mtende Mwandira is a native of Euthini, Malawi and has been actively engaged in the mission of health equity and social justice through the collaboration and uplifting of her community members to identify challenges and drive change. Prior to joining GHC, Mtende was involved in a research project with Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Trust that focused on the urgent need for vaccines amidst disease outbreaks. While working with FACT, Mtende contributed to the identification of challenges faced by tuberculosis patients during their treatment journeys. This led to advocacy efforts to improve the quality of care for tuberculosis patients. During her time with FACT, Mtende received the Personal Development Award which recognized her dedication and contribution to addressing health disparities and promoting positive change. For fun, Mtende enjoys watching football and cooking.
