Nancy Barry is a native of Austin, Texas. She discovered her passion for global health while working for Circle of Health International, a non-profit organization that provides reproductive healthcare to women and babies displaced by conflict or natural disaster. As Director of Operations, she led a Middle Eastern delegation of healthcare professionals that provided health services to refugees in Jordan and Israel. Nancy received her bachelor’s degree in international affairs, with a focus on conflict resolution and African studies from George Washington University. While an undergraduate, Nancy studied abroad in Northern Uganda and Senegal and conducted research in Rwanda on post-conflict speech and media. She has also interned with Human Rights Watch, where she researched and documented human rights violations in West Africa. Nancy spends her free time traveling, reading and eating queso at her favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in Austin, Texas.
