Nargis Shirazi is from Kampala, Uganda. She completed her undergraduate studies at Makerere University in Community Psychology with an interest in Health Psychology. She then completed her Masters in Public Health at the International Health Sciences University (IHSU) Kampala with an emphasis on health promotion and education. Her multiple talents got her onto NTV Uganda where she presented a health show and also starred in a Christmas movie called Christmas in Kampala. She also volunteered with Alive Medical Services in Voluntary Couseling and Testing (VCT) as well as Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT). Nargis was a character in a radio serial drama, Rock Point 256, that tackled cross generational issues. She has worked as a lecturer at Uganda Christian University and as a guest lecturer at IHSU in health promotion and education, Most recently, Nargis worked as a field officer on a Target TB needs assessment on behalf of the International Medical Foundation. She won the Young Achievers Award 2010 and is very passionate and excited about global health. She is happy to be a part of a team that will help promote health equity and social justice.
