Nick Carney was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California and spent six years in Philadelphia and Boston before moving back home. He is a passionate advocate for vulnerable and marginalized populations, especially individuals with disabilities and those experiencing homelessness. Prior to GHC, Nick served a year with AmeriCorps tackling homelessness in his hometown, connecting with individuals via street outreach to help them find permanent shelter. Previously, Nick has led organizations advocating for individuals with disabilities, worked at start-ups in digital marketing and education, and directed and edited multiple documentaries on social justice issues while attending Villanova University. He volunteers at Doctors Without Walls to provide medical care to those living on the streets and enjoys exploring the outdoors, playing sports with friends, and traveling.
