Nick Peoples hails from Texas, USA. He strives to become a worthy partner to diverse communities in the mutual pursuit of health equity. As a McNair Scholar, Nick completed a research internship in biophysics at Vanderbilt University. He also volunteered with a mobile clinic in a slum in Costa Rica, where he saw systemic health inequities firsthand. He was awarded a full scholarship to pursue his Master of Science in Global Health at Duke University's campus in Kunshan, China. He received a fieldwork grant and completed four months of research in rural Nepal, partnering with the Transcultural Psychosocial Organziation to study the prevention of cardiovascular disease in primary healthcare settings. In his free time, Nick enjoys playing piano, guitar, bass, and learning Mandarin Chinese.
