Born and raised in Ibadan, Nigeria, Olohikhuae currently calls the DMV area home. Olohikhuae is a corporate lawyer turned public health lawyer driven by a commitment to improving access to life-saving medical interventions. As an Associate at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center, she has investigated and highlighted the role of law in global health security, universal health coverage, and the prevention and control of diet-related non-communicable diseases. Olohikhuae was directly involved in the conceptualization of the O’Neill-Lancet Commission on Racism, Structural Discrimination, and Global Health. Her responsibilities include ongoing strategy development and execution, organizing and coordinating global events and consultations that serve as crucial platforms for exchanging ideas, experiences, and best practices in addressing racism and discrimination. She has also contributed to the Commission's work by conducting research and producing reports that identify factors influencing racism, structural discrimination, and global health, that shape the Commission’s recommendations for worldwide policy development and advocacy efforts. Olohikhuae is motivated to address the social determinants of health that contribute to high maternal mortality rates among Black women in the U.S. and globally. She is keen to contribute her unique background to the GHC community and to learn from her peers as she advances her career in addressing health inequities.
