Author: Temie Giwa

Temie Giwa was born in Nigeria and immigrated to the United States when she was 15. She attended Minnesota State University, Moorhead where she was awarded a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She moved to Monterey in Spring 2009 to complete a master’s degree in Public Administration at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. While at the Monterey Institute, Temie spent 3 months working as a Junior Health Economist on the Department for International Development, UK (DFID) project called “Partnership for Transforming Health Systems 2,” (Paths2), in Abuja, Nigeria. She also coordinated the Monterey County Lyceum’s first Model United Nations program and worked with the Central Coast children’s foundation as a research and resource intern. Temie has worked for the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva Switzerland with the health systems services cluster, and health-financing unit. She specializes in health systems management and M&E of health interventions in resource poor areas.
