No matter who you are, where you are you from or how much money you have—you have the right to access healthcare and live a healthy life that you deserve.
Perlita Carrillo is from the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in health promotion and disease prevention and a master’s degree in public health with an emphasis in global health leadership. She worked with the USC Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center, which fostered an interest in the intersection between access to HIV care, incarceration and homelessness. As a first-generation American, Perlita is also interested in improving health disparities among Latino and underserved populations. She has pursued these interests as a volunteer with Girls on the Run and with her parish’s Homeless Ministry in Los Angeles’ Skid Row. She enjoys family time and exploring new places and cuisine with friends throughout Southern California.
