Phiona Akampereza calls Kabale, Uganda home. Prior to joining GHC, Phiona established a vibrant nutrition clinic at Child and Family Foundation Uganda where mothers and their children came for routine nutrition screening, care, and follow-up. She also won the 2016-2017 Rector's Award in recognition of her outstanding research at the Islamic University in Uganda. As a Nutrition Officer with Action Against Hunger, Phiona established profound breastfeeding corners as a way of promoting optimal infant and young child feeding practices among refugees. For fun, Phiona enjoys listening to music, traveling, swimming, cooking, and baking.
