Promise Tumwebaze is a dedicated District Program Specialist from Buyende District, Uganda, making significant strides at the Joint AIDS Program. As a crucial link between project initiatives and district leadership, she ensures alignment with local healthcare priorities. In her versatile role, Promise develops work plans, coordinates activities, and supervises project execution while fostering partnerships with district staff. She provides expert guidance on essential HIV and TB components, including targeted testing, voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC), and the prevention of mother-to-child transmission. Her efforts have significantly enhanced the quality of care, spearheading initiatives in capacity building and quality improvement. Promise excels at designing community approaches to address health challenges while effectively utilizing resources and partners to achieve optimal outcomes. Participating in the GHC Leadership Accelerator will be a transformative opportunity for her to advance health equity in Sub-Saharan Africa. The program’s focus on leadership development aligns with her commitment to supporting underprivileged communities. Through this life-changing experience, she aims to acquire tactical techniques to tackle health challenges and build effective partnerships with a network of like-minded professionals.
