Reuben Mashekwa Kaponde is from Zambezi, Zambia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in land and water resources management from Mulungushi University. After graduating, Reuben interned at the National Remote Sensing Centre and ZESCO. During this period he was also a member of the Sunga Umukoshi Youth Ambassadors, a youth group based in Lusaka who discuss issues affecting young Zambians in areas of education, health, politics and several others. Reuben later worked as a geographic information systems (GIS) technician at Chipata District Land Alliance on a project that focused on strengthening land tenure of rural communities.
