Rina Asemamaw was born in Ethiopia and raised in the United States. She completed her bachelor’s degree in economics at Northeastern University where she worked in both the non-profit and corporate sectors. She continued her education at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she received her master’s degree in international health policy and economics. Rina’s dissertation focused on the impact of single motherhood on child health in Ethiopia. Prior to GHC, she worked as a health markets analyst for the business development and strategy team at Optum International in London. She is currently applying for Ph.D programs in Health Policy and Economics.
