I am motivated when I see that the results of my effort or work in a day have been fruitful. This happens especially if I have been faced with an unseen challenge and then I overcome it my way.

Ruth Kugumikiriza is from Uganda. She has a deep passion for community involvement and education, which has driven her studies and work. Ruth has experience in various research skills including program planning, implementation, evaluation and systematic analysis of various data. She developed these skills while working as a research assistant at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the National Agricultural Livestock Resource Research Institute. While at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Ruth was involved in the evaluation of the role of neighborhood environment in the reduction of cardiovascular disease in the elderly population of South-Port. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Makerere University and her master’s degree in environmental and public health from the University of Salford. Ruth is a people-person who enjoys adventure, meeting new people and giving back to her community.
