I am excited about joining a community of young people from vastly different backgrounds who are determined to learn how to become more effective leaders and agents of change in public health disparities work.
Sahaan Sozhamannan is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Boston College where he majored in both biology and sociology. During his time at Boston College, he spent time working in a local high school where he fell in love with education. After graduation, he taught biology and coached baseball at Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Prior to joining GHC, Sahaan finished his coursework for a master’s degree in health education and health communication at Johns Hopkins University where he focused on adolescent health. During this time, he also worked as a research assistant on an evaluation team for a school-based violence prevention program with the Baltimore City Health Department. Outside of school and work, Sahaan enjoys cooking and playing basketball.
