Strong communities are the foundations that support the growth and development of successful health interventions.

Samantha grew up in Plymouth, Massachusetts. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communications from Elon University. During college, she traveled with a documentary filmmaking team to Namibia to assist in interviewing orphans for a series about HIV/AIDS. This experience sparked her interest in global health and equity issues and she went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Public Health from George Washington University. As part of her graduate studies, she worked in Mumbai, India, where she created educational materials for the Impact India Foundation to educate young girls in rural Maharashtra on preventing anemia. Additionally, Sam worked as the research and training coordinator for the International Women’s Media Foundation, supporting projects throughout Africa that trained journalists on topics such as leadership, HIV reporting, and the role of women in agriculture. Prior to joining GHC, she was a consultant for Save the Children where she helped coordinate the Global Newborn Health Conference. Sam also loves to cook...and eat!
