Simone Snead is a maternal health advocate dedicated to decreasing the rates of maternal mortality in the U.S. among Black women. Throughout her career, Simone has focused on the role of doulas and midwives in strengthening the maternal health landscape. Simone currently works as the Mission Programs Manager with March of Dimes' Mom and Baby Action Network where she strives to achieve birth equity through programming, cross-sector collaboration, and authentic community engagement. Previously, Simone served as the Maternal Mortality Review Community Action Team Coordinator and Health Equity Co-Lead of the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Health’s Division of Maternal, Child, and Family Health. She is a Certified Lactation Counselor as well as a birth and postpartum doula who credits supporting families as they experience the beauty of birth among her greatest accomplishments. Simone earned her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Pennsylvania.
