Sophie Boehm is from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Before becoming a GHC Fellow, she worked for Ubuntu Education Fund, a South African nonprofit that empowers vulnerable families with the comprehensive support they need to break the cycle of poverty. Sophie served as Assistant to the CEO, Writing Coordinator and Literacy Project Manager during her three years with the organization. She also interned at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the district office of United States Congressman, Bart Gordon. Sophie graduated summa cum laude from Hamilton College in New York, where she majored in world politics and minored in sociology. In her spare time, Sophie is an avid traveler, somewhat capable film photographer, running enthusiast and novice tri-athlete.
