Surabhi Bhatt was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. Most recently, Surabhi was a senior program associate in health systems and financing at the Results for Development Institute (R4D) in Washington, D.C. While at R4D she supported the Joint Learning Network for Universal Health Coverage, a global community of policymakers who build on real experiences to produce and experiment with new ideas and tools for expanding health coverage. She also supported mapping healthcare provider capacity in Ghana. Prior to this, Surabhi supported the communications and external affairs team at the Global Business Coalition for Health (GBCHealth) in New York. She also interned at Amref Health Africa and Build Your Future Today (BFT) Center in Cambodia where she worked on maternal and child health programs. Surabhi holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology and art history from the University of Virginia. There, she was the founding co-president of GlobeMed, a student-run NGO which partners undergraduates with grassroots organizations to work towards health equity.
