I am strongly motivated by waking up and seeing that my actions help and improve my community.

Theophile is from Gakenke, Rwanda. He recently completed his studies at the University of Rwanda, School of Architecture where he received a bachelor’s of architecture degree. Prior to beginning his studies, Theophile taught mathematics, gymnastics, and social studies at the primary school level. In 2009, Theophile moved to Kigali where he was exposed to both rural and urban lifestyle. This exposure played an important part in his architectural studies, helping him understand how people live in different settings. In his free time, Theophile volunteers with People to People International, an NGO that connects students with the surrounding community. His work with the organization has included visiting patients in hospitals and assisting poor families in acquiring basic provisions. The youngest of five, Theophile is a fan of soccer, music and documentaries.
