Thokozani Chepuka, from Blantyre, Malawi, is a dedicated WASH Project Officer at World Vision Malawi, where he has successfully led the Nyachipere WASH project by planning and implementing essential measures. Through his supervision of vital programs such as WASH and Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) in schools, he has inspired the construction and rehabilitation of water systems. Thokozani's responsibilities include designing and executing annual project plans and managing contractors to ensure project timelines are met with high-quality standards. His commitment to his work was particularly evident when he pioneered World Vision’s emergency WASH response during the cholera and COVID-19 outbreaks in Nsanje District, partnering with District Environmental Health to raise community awareness for risk management. Notable achievements under his guidance include the installation of four boreholes that serve over 2,250 individuals and the establishment of open defecation-free zones. The GHC Africa Leadership Accelerator presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Thokozani to enhance his capabilities and broaden his impact in the public health sector. He is eager to receive leadership training while engaging with a global network of driven professionals. This program is the perfect fit for him to refine his expertise and contribute to meaningful change.
