Born and raised in Blantyre, Malawi, Thokozani Jane Kasiya is a driven health trailblazer who has spearheaded transformative reproductive health initiatives in underserved communities. The programs she was involved in significantly increased the demand for HIV testing and reproductive health services, particularly focusing on college and university students by connecting them with skilled healthcare professionals. As the appointed chairperson of the Blantyre City Gender, Human Rights, Culture and Youth Technical Working Group, her leadership has been instrumental in addressing gender equality, human rights, and cultural awareness. Among her notable achievements is the successful execution of the Comfort Corner initiative, which received international recognition. She also played a vital role in establishing a free testing center under a USAID-funded project. Thokozani's dedication to accessible healthcare and empowering young people through community-driven programs has made a lasting impact. As a GHC fellow, Thokozani aims to expand her network by learning from diverse backgrounds and gaining personal and professional development opportunities to refine her skills and broaden her knowledge for meaningful change in global health.
