Titilope (Titi) Akinlose was born and partially raised in both Lagos, Nigeria and Laurel, Maryland. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and Africana studies at the University of Pittsburgh in the spring of 2011. A year later, she moved to Chicago to pursue a Master of Public Health in health policy and administration with a focus in global health at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During her graduate career, Titilope completed her master’s practicum in Kisumu, Kenya where she worked at KIPE, an organization that supports members of the LBGT community affected by HIV/AIDS. Most recently, she served as the research coordinator for a federally funded grant investigating the well-being of caregivers of adults with spinal cord injury. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, trying new and tasty cuisine, live music, and photography.
