Tracy Kobukindo was born and raised in Uganda. She speaks four languages: German, English, Luganda and Lugwere. In 2010, Tracy was appointed Ambassador of Uganda to Germany for the Salem Africa Day Celebrations. She has also worked with the German-based non-profit organizations, Tukolere Wamu and Salem Uganda Limited. Tracy holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from International Health Sciences University and is currently completing her Master of Public Health from the same university. She completed her nursing internship at Mulago, Uganda’s biggest National Referral Hospital, and held a research supervisory role with the organization International Development Consultants in 2013. Tracy has volunteered with Angels Care School and Orphanage as the Program Coordinator since 2011. She also founded the regionally acclaimed social entrepreneurial venture, “Bottle Project,” which empowers the youth in her community and country. Tracy’s work on this project received national and regional acclaim just three years after it began. Before joining GHC, Tracy was the Program Coordinator at Girl Child Network Uganda. Her main areas of interest in the health sector are community health, child health, education and poverty alleviation.
