A communications professional from Kigali, Rwanda, Uwera Yvonne believes that health equity and social justice go hand in hand with the empowerment of women and girls. Prior to joining GHC, Uwera served as a Communications Intern at International Alert Rwanda where she documented impact stories that showcased the reconciliation journeys of Rwandans. She also worked as a Project Associate for Young African Business Booster, a start-up that teaches business skills to youth. Outside of work, Uwera is passionate about fashion photography and reading.
