Health equity means giving everyone a fair opportunity to be healthy regardless of their age, sex, and/or social status. This can only be achieved through concerted efforts toward removing obstacles to health such as poverty and discrimination.

A native of Lusaka, Zambia, Wiza Siwale is a monitoring, evaluation, and learning professional who has worked to address HIV, cervical cancer, and gender-based violence (GBV). Prior to joining GHC, Wiza worked as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer on a USAID project that strengthened the Zambian government's response to GBV and HIV. Additionally, she was the Zambia Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer at Solidaridad Network. When she isn’t working, Wiza enjoys spending time with family, taking long walks, and listening to music.
