Yvette Efevbera comes to Global Health Corps as a recent Master of Science in Global Health and Population graduate from the Harvard School of Public Health, where she specialized in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Program Evaluation. She completed her thesis in the Public Health and Human Rights contexts of Child Marriage in Malawi. In addition, she has worked on numerous projects focused on Botswana, Kenya, and Sierra Leone, including HIV/AIDS program evaluation with the Open Society Initiative of East Africa and the Harvard AIDS Initiative. Yvette is interested in improving cultural competence in global health programming and policy with an emphasis on vulnerable youth in sub-Saharan Africa. She has been active in diversity, policy, and social justice initiatives as President of the Harvard School of Public Health Africa Health Forum and through community outreach in Senegal, Namibia, and the U.S. Yvette graduated with High Double Honors from Michigan State University, specializing in International Relations and African Studies. She enjoys traveling, fashion, musical theatre, food, and spending time with family and friends in the U.S. and Nigeria.
