Dr. Michele Barry

Dr. Barry is the Senior Associate Dean of Global Health at Stanford Medical School, Director of Global Health Overseas Program at Stanford,  and the Director of the Center for Innovation in Global Health at Stanford. She is also a Senior Fellow at Stanford’s Freeman Spogli Institute and the Woods Institute for Environmental Studies. As a past president of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Dr. Barry led an educational initiative in tropical medicine in the US and overseas. Since 2002, she has been an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and National Academy of Sciences. She has been selected for Best Doctors in America. 

She specializes in tropical medicine, emerging infectious diseases, and internal medicine, with over 180 publications in tropical diseases, travel medicine, ethics of research overseas, and the impact of climate and globalization on health.
