Dr. Farmer is a Founding Director and Chief Strategist of Partners in Health. In addition to this position, he is a professor at Kolokotrones University, Chair of the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Chief of the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He and his colleagues around the world have developed novel, community-based treatment strategies to pioneer the delivery of high quality healthcare in resource-poor settings. Dr. Farmer has written widely on health and human rights, the role of social inequities in the distribution and outcome of infectious disease, and global health.
